Working in watercolor, gouache, ink and crayon, with attention to mood and light, Jerianne Van Dijk's painting style is realistic and impressionistic. When it comes to illustration, her medium use entails a grand variety of techniques and materials and ranges from whimsical to detailed and classic. Jerianne has lived in the Northern California foothills for 30 years and her work is often born of the unique charm and inspiration of the Gold Country. Jerianne is primarily self-taught and is inspired by regular collaborations with professional artists and workshops with master artists and illustrators. Her designs include the label art for Indian Springs Vineyards, Lost Coast Brewery, Tomaso’s Dressings, and the Zap wine organization, as well as pieces for calendars, books, children books, puzzles, CD covers, posters, and a variety of products available nationally and internationally. She has worked as a ghost artist for designers creating their “look”, producing everything from wallpapers to textiles, including figurines, fabrics, and dishware. Murals and wall trims have been commissioned in and around Grass Valley, Sacramento, and Truckee for everything from restaurants to bedrooms! She especially enjoys working on commissions with clients to find those special elements they seek, then bringing the process together to a compleated vision. Jerianne holds a yearly Open Studio in October. See www.openstudiostour.org for details. Recently she was invited as one of 26 artists around the world to celebrate the 25th Year of Arts at El Minia University, Egypt. Jerianne is also well known for her weekly radio program on KVMR FM - www.kvmr.org. Tune in on Friday Mornings from 7-10am PST. Click HERE to listen online. |
